Set out by the Australian Standards 1428.4 the tactile indicators (TGSIs) must follow a strict set of guidelines in order to ensure an effective guidance system.

AS1428.1: 2009 Figures 27 (A) & (B)
Taking into considerations the requirements of the AS 1428.1:2009 the nosing should have a minimum of 50mm contrasting strip and the face of the nosing not extend past 10mm
If the nosing is to be installed into a recessed step then the setback should be to a maximum of 15mm.
